What are #hashtags and how do you use them in Twitter?
Hashtags begin with the # symbol and contain a tag word or phrase without having spacing between the words. They are typically added at the end of the tweet. Twubs, a website for Twitter groups focused around content aggregated from #hashtags, explains hashtags as, “a user-created standard for identifying tweets belonging to a topic.” I was able to register #anthonyfrando using Twubs.
Using hashtags in your tweets can help increase the likelihood of others seeing your tweet, which may help to promote your item and increase your Twitter followers.

Thanks for this, Tony. Something I’ve wanted to look into, but haven’t gotten around to on my own.

Welcome Selena!
The list is helpful. I see hashtags all the time, but never fully utilize them. That’s neat you were able to register your name. I had never heard of that. Thankfully, I learn something new every day.
